2022 will be a huge year for Everbreed, and we’re excited to share our plans with you.

We’ve been hard at work building the best rabbit farm management software for rabbit breeders, and we’re way overdue for a detailed update on our progress and plans.

2021 Recap for Our Rabbit Breeding App

In 2021, we went through every single page and form in the software, rethinking and redesigning it to build the most useful and easy to use software for both small and large rabbitries. As we’ve been releasing these new designs into the software, we’ve also been optimizing our code, fixing longstanding issues, and speeding things up in both the web version and our mobile apps on Android and iOS.

In the second half of last year, we released new designs for the Breeders, Litters, Pedigrees, Settings, and Schedule pages, as well as the overall layout and menus. We also rebranded from Hutch / Barntrax to Everbreed, launched a new website, and added several new features, such as the ability to perform tasks on an entire litter at once, more customization in pedigrees designs, enhanced searching and filtering, and more.

In addition, we created a knowledge base with detailed articles showing how to use all these features. And we added a new feature flag system so we can release features to beta users first, before releasing them to everyone.

What’s coming in 2022

Now, in early 2022, having also launched the new Task and Schedule system, we’re nearly complete with the full makeover of our core product, and we’re getting ready to start more of the exciting features that have been requested by our customers on our Feedback Portal!

In this post, you will learn more about some of the upcoming features and improvements we have planned for Everbreed to help you breed better.

We’re excited about what Everbreed will bring rabbit breeders, as well as breeders of other animals. We think you will like it, too.

Finishing the core product makeover

We’re starting off 2022 by finishing the roll out of our new designs, including updates to the Dashboard, Account pages, Finances, Cage Cards, and Reports. Some of these changes will be minor, others will be big improvements. But all will help make our rabbit farm management software more cohesive, user-friendly, help you track your rabbit performance better, and find and use the information you need more easily and quickly.

Advanced new features

Everbreed’s mission is to become the most loved and most used software for the responsible breeding of animals. To continue delivering on this mission, we plan to introduce new features that support breeders in tracking their animals more effectively.

Some of the features planned include:

  • Medical Record Tracker
  • Birth Certificates
  • Kit list with ability to more easily identify weaned kits
  • Multi-farm management
  • Multi-user support
  • Ability to make changes to multiple rabbits at once
  • New reports with more detail, multiple views, and export options
  • Line Breeding

We also plan to begin designing support for other animals besides rabbits, probably starting with chickens or goats, although this feature will likely not be completed in 2022.

Enterprise Customers and New Membership Plans

While our product was initially created for smaller backyard breeders and homesteaders with typically under 100 breeding rabbits, we’ve continued to receive increased interest from enterprise breeders with up to several thousand breeding rabbits, and we have already secured some of these customers, with more in the pipeline.

One of our focuses in 2022 will be continuing to serve enterprise customers, and at a higher level. To better accommodate this type of customer, and increase our available resources to serve all our customers and reinvest into our app, we’re reworking our membership plans. We will be announcing the new plans in advance, and existing members will have an opportunity to either switch to the new plans at a discount, or to stay on their existing plan at their existing rate.

Last but not least, we look forward to building partnerships with other projects in the industry, to better collaborate and build value for all involved.

We build what drives value

We hear you. One of our core principles includes gathering as much feedback as possible from our users to make our app even better. We run surveys and do user interviews to build a product that will be successful in the long term. We’re working hard to make Everbreed sustainable, and we’ve made incredible progress in the background.

Thanks again for your feedback. Every piece of input takes us closer to building rabbit farm management software that people want to use and pay for. If there are features you would like to see added to the product, you can make suggestions or vote on previous suggestions here!

Improving user experience

In addition to shipping new features, our engineers continue improving the app’s response time, user experience, and data accuracy. We plan to provide more in-app explanations and tooltips to make it easier take advantage of the software’s features.

We’re also gradually implementing automated testing, along with our existing manual testing procedures, so that we can more effectively catch bugs and data issues before they are released.

Conclusion

We’re relentlessly executing on our vision to provide the most loved and most used software for the responsible breeding of animals. We’re making incredible progress every day, and we are excited to see how Everbreed will evolve in 2022 and beyond. Thank you for being a part of it!
